FAQs
What is an adjustment?
The manipulation of a joint. A joint is where two bones meet. A manipulation/adjustment is performed by moving these bones into an ideal position then applying a quick and gentle thrust motion into the joint. Occasionally patients will hear pops or cracks from within the joint. This is completely normal, just as it is also normal if the patient does not hear any popping or cracking.
Do you take my insurance?
We do not accept insurance, as this allows us to spend more time with patients, use all treatments and procedures beneficial to you and charge the same flat rate each visit.
Do you take x-rays?
We do not take x-rays in-office. If Dr. Lux sees potential medical benefit or clarity within your case by obtaining imaging, he will discuss options with you. Most often musculoskeletal imaging drives up healthcare cost, creates fear amongst patients, and exposes patients to unnecessary radiation. In the majority of cases, diagnostic imaging would not change out treatment protocols involving someone with ongoing aches and pains.
How do I book an appointment?

SERVICES / TREATMENTS
Chiropractic Adjustments
A manipulation of a joint which releases pressure entrapped within the synovial folds of ligamentous tissue located inside the facet joints.
Kinesiology Taping
Commonly used to improve kinesthetic awareness where we need to re-train proper movement patterns during recovery.
Myofascial Release
A pin and stretch therapy used to relieve muscle tension; commonly used with trigger points.
McKenzie Method Exercise Prescription
A central desensitization strategy given to nearly all patients to empower them when away from the office.
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Manipulation - Scraping/ Graston
A therapy used to break down fascial restrictions and improve range of motion.
Nerve Flossing
Using biomechanics to alter positions of nerves in the body, enhancing circulation to the nerve, and decreasing pain.
Cupping
A therapeutic decompression strategy that draws blood directly to the treated area.
Hypervolt Massage Gun
Percussive vibration used to increase physiological space between the fascia and the muscle thus improving blood flow to tissues.
Normatec Pulsated Compression Boots
Combined timed air compression with pulsated massage to enhance blood flow and increase circulation.
Muscle Flossing / Blood flow restriction therapy
Temporarily impeding blood flow to a muscle, then releasing pressure allowing a flush of fresh nutrients to a previously inflamed area.
Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation
(TENS) or E-Stim therapy. Commonly used to deter pain signals away from the inflammatory site for a short duration.
Extremity Adjustments
Chiropractic adjustments / manipulations to the joints of the upper and lower extremities.
Dermal Traction
Decompression of superficial tissues to relieve adhesions formed between the fascia, subcutaneous tissue and the nerve.
Cryotherapy
Using ice to down regulate pain and tension.
Exercise Programming
Progressive loading strategies specialized for each individual’s goals.
Nutritional Counseling
A focus on removing pro-inflammatory foods from the diet and increasing intakes of water and other healthy dietary staples.
